SRI Sets Quito Vehicle Exhibition Ahead of September Auction Window

Ecuador’s Servicio de Rentas Internas (SRI) has scheduled a public exhibition in Quito for vehicles that will be included in a September auction. The exhibition is set for September 4, 2026, from 09:00 to 12:00, at the intersection of avenida Galo Plaza Lasso and avenida Luis Tufiño, near the agency’s northern office.

The auction is scheduled for September 17 and 18. The source says the SRI expects to auction around eight vehicles in Quito during September 2026.

The price range

Base prices range from USD 5,182 to USD 65,000. The top figure is attached to a 2015 Porsche that runs on gasoline, is a convertible, and has recorded 13,000 kilometers.

At the other end, the lowest-base vehicle is a 1998 Jeep Honda with 258,000 kilometers. Its bidding starts at USD 5,182.

The price range is not a valuation or a forecast of the final winning prices. It is the range of base prices reported for the public process. The exact description and details for each vehicle are available through the SRI-linked list.

Qualification and settlement

Interested parties must attend the indicated sessions and qualify as bidders. The qualification step is not optional: the source says participants must qualify as postors before participating.

Each bidder must consign at least 20% of the initial base value in cash or through a certified check made out to the SRI. After qualification, the designated official gives the participant a numbered paddle for the auction.

The winning bidder must pay the offered balance in cash, by certified check, by transfer to the SRI account, or by credit card. This means the bidder’s liquidity plan has two parts: the initial deposit and the settlement method for the final balance.

What to watch

  • The individual vehicle details in the SRI list.
  • Attendance and operating details for the September 4 exhibition.
  • The final winning prices on September 17 and 18 compared with the reported base prices.
  • Whether bidders can complete the balance through the settlement channels listed by the SRI.

For operators and buyers, the signal is process clarity rather than a guaranteed discount. The opportunity is defined by the inventory and dates, while the risk sits in vehicle condition, qualification, deposit size, final price, and settlement execution.
