Auca 141H Adds 2,568 Bpd to Orellana Oil Output
A new well has added incremental production at one of Ecuador's core oil assets.
Primicias reports that AUCA-141H entered operation at the Auca field, part of Block 61 in Orellana, contributing 2,568 barrels per day.
Field Data
| Indicator | Figure |
|---|---|
| New well contribution | 2,568 bpd |
| Auca average production | 60,000 bpd |
| Field discovery year | 1970 |
| Wells drilled at Auca | more than 580 |
| Horizontal displacement | 1,402 feet |
| Operator | Shaya, SLB affiliate |
The Ministry of Environment and Energy reported the new output on June 1, 2026.
Primicias describes AUCA-141H as a horizontal well that reaches a 90-degree inclination and extends through the producing formation, increasing reservoir contact.
Strategic Context
The ministry said horizontal drilling can increase hydrocarbon recovery, multiply production compared with conventional wells and optimize operating costs.
The additional volume arrives as Ecuador is trying to lift national oil output through exploration, exploitation, drilling and well-reconditioning campaigns.
What To Watch
- Whether Auca's incremental output offsets declines in other mature fields.
- Additional horizontal-well results under the same campaign.
- Shaya/SLB operational performance at Block 61.
- Monthly Petroecuador and ministry production data after AUCA-141H is fully reflected.
