Recovery Measures
Petroecuador says its 2026 strategy includes reactivating approximately 200 closed wells and converting 35 wells to injectors across fields it operates.
Field-level gains cited by the company include:
- Drago: from 2,854 bpd to a peak of 5,954 bpd
- Auca: from 60,753 bpd on April 1 to 62,300 bpd on June 8
- Lobo: from 500 bpd to more than 2,000 bpd, with a peak of 2,300 bpd
Gas Data Gap
At the Amistad field, Petroecuador said gas production increased from 17 million to 28 million cubic feet per day after a second workover campaign.
ARCH reported 24.3 million cubic feet from the area on June 15.
What To Watch
- Whether crude-only production reaches the 376,223.01 bpd June plan
- Whether reactivated wells add sustained output or short-term peaks
- Whether Drago, Auca and Lobo gains offset declines elsewhere
- Whether Amistad gas output stabilizes near company or ARCH-reported levels
- Whether lower crude production affects export-contract fulfillment and fiscal assumptions
