Ecuador Brief||Source: Primicias

Orion Energy and Gente Oil submitted offers on July 16, 2026 for two fields in Ecuador's Intracampos III oil round.

The offers cover Tetete Sur in Block 95 and Lumbaqui in Block 11, both in Sucumbíos.

Round Parameters

The Intracampos III round began in November 2025 and includes Tetete Sur, Lumbaqui, and Pañayacu Norte.

At launch, the government said it expected minimum exploration investment of USD 113 million, with an optimal level of USD 360 million including field development.

The expected production increase is between 9,900 and 12,000 barrels per day.

Companies

Orion Energy operates Blocks 52 and 54 in Sucumbíos. In March 2026, the company renegotiated both contracts with Ecuador, extending operations by 10 years to 2042.

Gente Oil operates the Singue field in Block 53 and is part of the Qatari conglomerate CDC Internacional.

What To Watch

Watch the Comité de Licitación Hidrocarburífera process after offer opening, final contract terms, and whether Pañayacu Norte receives a comparable bid signal.
