Petroecuador Adds Output at Sacha and Auca as State Production Hits 364,233 Bpd
Petroecuador added incremental production from new work at Sacha and Auca, reinforcing the two fields that anchor state crude output.
On June 8, Petroecuador production reached 364,233 barrels per day.
Field Contribution
| Field / well | Production indicator |
|---|---|
| Petroecuador total production, June 8 | 364,233 bpd |
| Sacha field production, June 8 | 72,811 bpd |
| Sacha share of state output | 20% |
| New Sacha-408 contribution | More than 1,200 bpd |
| Initial Sacha-408 test rate | 114 bpd |
| Auca field production, June 8 | 61,007 bpd |
| Auca share of state output | 17% |
| Auca-141H added production | 2,600 bpd |
The Sacha-408 well was incorporated after exploration activity by Petroecuador over a two-week period. The crude from that asset has 32 degree API gravity, supporting production and commercialization conditions.
Strategic Context
Sacha, in Block 60, remains the country's most important oil asset. Auca is also central to Petroecuador's near-term stabilization targets.
The additions matter because Ecuador is trying to stabilize crude output while pursuing a broader Petroecuador restructuring model and increased investment in exploration and production.
What to watch
- Whether Sacha-408 maintains output above 1,200 bpd after initial stabilization.
- Whether Auca-141H sustains the 2,600 bpd contribution.
- Whether Petroecuador can keep total state output near or above 360,000 bpd.
- Whether higher field performance strengthens the case for new investment or mixed-capital restructuring.
